Last month I wrote a blog post about what being a photographer means to me (here), but today I want to tell you about marriage, weddings and the incredible job of being a wedding photographer.
While I am passionate about everything to do with photography, what I love most from being a photographer is the people. And being a wedding photographer is not transactional for me. It is a privilege to be trusted by my couples to capture their first day of forever after. I appreciate every couple that I cross paths with and I genuinely want to get to know their story. Everyone's story is unique. Getting to know how people met, how they fell in love, the interests they share - it all helps me document their love story naturally and honestly. Matt and I have been married over five years now. And over the last five years I've grown to realise that a wedding day is just the start of an amazing life shared with the one you love. A wedding day is filled with love & joy, it's a celebration of epic proportions, and it will one of the best days of your life... But my favourite part of a wedding, above all the details and gorgeousness, is actually knowing that it is the start of something new for my couples; a marriage. |
