I knew back at Tom & Tessa's engagement session that these two were something special. Their energy and fun was infectious and as a couple they just compliment each other so perfectly. Tom & Tessa's wedding has to be one of the most fun, magical celebrations we've ever been a part of as wedding photographers. Over the last year Matt and I have gotten to know this beautiful couple - they're two of the friendliest and down to earth people you will ever meet. So it was no surprise that Tom & Tessa's wedding would be filled with laughter, nothing over the top and a lot of very special, sweet moments. Right from our first contact I could tell how much of a family girl Tess is. She was so excited to get married in her parent's garden. And getting to this day hadn't been smooth sailing for Tom & Tessa. Emma, Tessa's sister is stuck in Australia (thanks Covid!) and I know it caused Tess stress to plan a wedding without her sister's presence. But Emma was still a huge part of the day, celebrating from afar via video calls, she even videoed her speech to be watched at the reception. And their brother, Alan stepped in as maid of honour - or male of honour as he started referring to himself! Tessa also wore a brooch in her hair from Emma. Enjoy this blog - it's filled with all the good things: happiness, sunflowers, love and joy. It was SO good to see this beautiful, bubbly makeup artist again. Steph we must not let it be so long in between crossing paths again in the future! While Tess and her bridesmaids got ready and chatted via video call with Emma, Dot worked on her masterpiece - the wedding cake. To demonstrate how chilled and down to earth Tessa is, when her mum sighed about those tan lines on her back, Tess just shrugged! 😂 I know a few brides who would be pretty worried about having tan lines showing in their dress, probably myself included. But Tess is a big picture girl and I know she was just excited to be marrying her sweetheart. It got pretty emotional when everyone saw Tessa in her dress for the first time! Meanwhile down the road the guys got ready at a Airbnb house. Tessa had packed Tom a wedding day 'survival kit' which produced a few laughs in the morning. A few whisky's with a view and then Tom was ready to go see his bride. Tom and Tessa's first look was beautiful in the gardens where the ceremony would later be. Wherever Tess was, Kaia her adorable pup wasn't far away. This old vintage car has been in the family for a very long time and it was special to use for some photos before we headed off down to the beach for a picnic. We arrived at the beach to a bit of drizzle but it soon cleared up and we made the most of the 360 degree views! This crew were a hoot! Tess your styling was exceptional and you two are just so natural in front of the camera. I mean, you look like models stepped out of the pages of a magazine! Except for those tans lines Tess. 😂 Before the wedding day Tom had suggested to me that Matt's truck might be more suitable than my Territory to use for going to the portrait locations on the farm. Let's just say Matt's day was made when he realised we'd be 4wding through bogs, along sand dunes and through native bush tracks on the farm! So a wee shout out to future couples - if you involve some 4wd adventures on your wedding day Matt is most certainly keen! How's that for a view for a ceremony?! Naturally Tom and Tessa's ceremony was filled with laughter. Their personalised vows were beautiful. Congratulations Mr & Mrs Moss!!! While guests started heading from the farm down the road to the local hall, Tom & Tessa snuck away to Waipapa Point lighthouse with us for a few more portraits and some time to soak up all those newlywed vibes. It was actually really neat to tie in the lighthouse to their day because with growing up just down the road from here it had once been Tessa's childhood dream to have a lighthouse wedding. The Otara Community Hall was looking splendid with sunflowers and greenery dotted everywhere and sentimental details in every corner. Tom and Tess entered to their party to the tune of Eminem! 😂 Dot, this cake looked incredible and I can personally attest that it tasted amazing too! Emma's beautiful speech was delivered all the way from Australia. Then it was time for the first dance and these two nailed it! An epic first dance complete with spins and dips! Friends! What a fabulous wedding to kick off the New Year! Congratulations Tom & Tessa. To say we loved being a part of your celebrations is an understatement - we had such a good time with you both, your friends and family, the whole day was filled with gorgeousness & fun AND you took Matt 4wding haha! Tess you made the most beautiful bride, I don't think I've ever seen a bride smile as much as you. And Tom you looked awesome in that full suit. Thank you for letting us share in your special day. I hope you love your blog. It's going to be so much fun creating your wedding album!!! x DRESS: Love Me Do Bridal | SUITS: Hallensteins | | MAKE-UP: Steph Mac Makeup Artist | HAIR: Brydie White | FLOWERS: Daniel Ching-Brown | CELEBRANT: Pani Grey-Thomas | CATERING: Country Manor | RECEPTION VENUE: Otara Community Hall | CAKE: Dot & Ellie.
