I offer complimentary engagement sessions to all my wedding couples (you can read more about what to expect from me when you book me as your photographer here). I love to do these engagement sessions because they're the perfect chance to get to know you both better plus when your wedding day arrives you're already relaxed and comfortable in front of my camera. (If you want more convincing here's a blog I wrote with 3 reasons why you should do an engagement session!) But today I'm going to give you 3 tips for getting the most out of your engagement session! LOCATION - Choose a location that has meaning to you both, somewhere you love going to together. I'm happy to travel to do engagement sessions because I think it's important to use locations that have meaning; somewhere you spend time every summer, back to where you first met, where he proposed, a place you often go to walk the dog. Melissa & Kieran chose to go to the family cribs which hold many special memories for them. They even brought the dogs out for a run down by the river! CHECK OUT THE BLOG - When you start planning your engagement session, sit down & check out past engagement sessions on my blog together. I often find this can make the groom a lot more relaxed, knowing what's in store! Most of my couples are a little nervous when they turn up to the engagement session, but you need not worry because it's my job to make it a fun, relaxed shoot. MIX IT UP - Bring a couple of outfit choices to the session. One casual, one dressy. This gives you the chance to mix your photos up a bit & get some variety. Even co-ordinate your engagement session with a trial run for your wedding hair & makeup if you want to go all out! I enjoy helping my couples plan out their engagement session and if you have any questions about engagement sessions I would love to hear from you! xx
