Things in my camera bag besides camera gear!

I've done blog posts before about what gear is in my camera bag but to be honest I don't think my clients really care too much about which lens is my favourite ;-)

So I thought I would blog about some of the other stuff in my camera bag besides my gear on a wedding day. There's a random assortment of things I carry but everything has it's use!

BOBBY PINS & HAIR-TIES - for the girls because sometimes hair just doesn't play the game!

STICKING PLASTERS - for me (not saying I'm accident prone!) and the bridal party. These can be the saving grace for the girl's blisters when in heels!

TISSUES - a wedding day is an emotional day!

BLU-TACK - for getting wedding rings to stand up or stay in place when taking the detail shots.

BLOTTING PAPER - If there's any guys reading this blog & they have no idea what blotting paper is; it's small sheets of absorbent thin paper that you can use to banish oil & shine from makeup. Perfect for the girls that want a more matte makeup look for their photos.

CLAMPS  - I often pull these out when photographing the wedding dress hanging up in the morning. I use them to clamp the dress at the back (which is often undone or laced loosely prior to the bride getting into it). A simple clamp will get it to hang perfectly for photos.

A WOODEN COAT HANGER - Okay so I don't carry this one around in my camera bag but it's always in my car just in case the dress only has a plastic hanger. Changing the hanger out can make a huge difference in the photos!

CHEWING GUM OR BREATH MINTS - no explanation needed here.

We also keep an assortment of things in the car such as sunscreen, bug spray & panadol because these can easily be forgotten on the day and come in super handy!

While we could just carry our camera gear & not worry about all these quirky extras; they actually help make our job easier & are all part of providing the best service & experience we can!
