From our chats throughout wedding planning I knew Tansy and Lachie were so excited waiting for the 25th of November to arrive. And that moment when they saw each other for the first time on the day as Tansy walked down the aisle you could see the pure joy on their faces that it was happening and soon they'd become Mr & Mrs! Wanaka turned on a hot, sunny day and The Lookout Lodge was a picture perfect venue where Tansy and Lachie's families & friends spent the whole day celebrating. After the ceremony Tansy & Lachie allowed themselves time to hang out with their guests, enjoying ice cold drinks and delicious seafood platters & canapes, before heading down the road in their wedding cars for portrait time. It made for a relaxed, go-with-the-flow afternoon which I am a huge advocate of! I started my morning photographing Tansy's beautiful bridal details including some incredibly sentimental pieces of jewelry, a custom wooden ring box and of course the amazing dress! When Tansy told me she was making her own wedding dress I was impressed but I had no idea what to expect. I can't sew a straight line to save myself and I can imagine a lot of brides would be beyond stressed at the idea of making their own dress - but Tansy was as cool as a cucumber about it. And when I saw the dress on the morning of the wedding, it blew my mind! Tansy you are a talented, clever lady!!! The girl's morning was filled with laughter! Matt hung out with Lachie and the guys as they got ready in Wanaka before they headed out to the venue to make sure everything was just perfect. Tansy walked down the aisle hand-in-hand with her Mum and Dad to a beautiful country love song; "Yours" by Russell Dickerson. Just look at those smiles! Soon Pastor Dave McKenzie was introducing Lachie & Tansy as officially wed! Mr & Mrs Hutton! I just love the set-up at The Lookout Lodge! Such a great space to chill out and celebrate. Many guests (along with the bride) kicked off their heels, relaxing barefoot on the lawn! 💚 Thanks to an old school friend (cheers Holly!) we found a beautiful spot just down the road with trees (yay for shade!), long grass, those iconic Central Otago lupins and a peaceful lagoon - the perfect setting for some gorgeous portraits. The Lodge looked just as stunning inside as it did outside, with such cute details! I loved the jars and buckets filled with daisies all around the room. And the awesome cake-topper! After some beautiful speeches, a few stories and a good dose of hilarious banter it was time for Tansy & Lachie's first dance! My last shot of the night - can you spot Tansy & Lachie?? Congratulations Mr & Mrs Hutton! What a beautiful first day of marriage!!! We feel so lucky to have shared in your day, to be asked to photograph it for you. Thank you for trusting us with your precious memories. I hope you love the highlights on the blog - SO many more to come 😊. Matt and I wish you all the happiness and love in the world for your marriage and we look forward to seeing what adventures life has in store for you together! xx DRESS: Tansy Morris (aka the beautiful bride!!!) // HAIR & MAKE-UP: Tania Stewart & the team at The Salon on Princes Dunedin // FLOWERS: Windsor Florist // VENUE: The Lookout Lodge // OFFICIANT: Dave McKenzie // CATERING: Flying Trestles // CAKE: Jessica Wood.
