I don't think I've ever seen a groom more excited to marry his bride than Mike was on Saturday as he said 'I do' to Rose! Mike and Rose are just the sweetest couple. Rose is probably the giggliest bride I've ever had too, but her bridesmaids tell me this is just the effect Mike has on her. Besides being bubbly, Rose is also incredibly organised and crafty! She made the cake for the wedding, the flowers plus paua necklaces for the girls and paua cufflinks for the guys! The paua is probably a hint, but you will quickly see from the photos that aquamarine is Rose's favourite colour. And as far as a wedding theme goes, I am in LOVE! From the graduated aqua shades of the bridesmaid's dresses matched with the groomsmen's bowties, to the paua shell ring holder. It was all brought together perfectly in the wonderful setting of Glenfalloch Gardens overlooking the water on Otago Peninsula. The girls got ready at McFarmers Backpackers and I had a lovely morning getting to know Rose's bridesmaids and hearing stories of how they each knew Rose, from the high school bus through to university friendships. Rose's talented friend Rachel did the make-up and Jess from Dunedin's Beautiful Bride did the hair. I seriously can't get enough of the aqua tones of those dresses and the incredible bouquets; daffodils + ferns = stunning! Ladies you look absolutely gorgeous! Matt spent the rest of the morning hanging out with the groomsmen and family... Mike was busy running about town doing errands & last minute tasks, like the good sort he is! He also might have done a last minute dash to the shop when he realised he'd forgotten his belt. 🙊 Nevertheless Mike was looking dapper and nothing could have held back his excitement that it was finally the day he got to marry his Rose! There is so much happiness contained in these photos and it makes my heart sing! I love capturing all the emotion of a wedding day. Rose & Mike's ceremony was filled with laughter and tears of joy. Wahoo! Officially Mr & Mrs Stuart! Rose & Mike cut their wedding cake for afternoon tea in the gardens at Glenfalloch. Bridal portraits were filled with laughter, fun and plenty of love. In fact I had a hard time getting Mike to look anywhere but at Rose! Glenfalloch Gardens is SO beautiful with lots of walkways and little nooks to explore. The ocean is close to Rose's heart and MacAndrew Bay is a special place her & Mike often go to for a picnic together, so it was the perfect location for more photos. We're so happy for you Mike & Rose! Congratulations friends - what a beautiful, fun & love-filled first day of marriage!!! It was an incredible honour to be asked to document your wedding day. We had the best day celebrating with you both, your awesome bridal party and your families & friends. You guys are such a sweet couple and we are delighted to have been a part of this journey with you. Have an amazing honeymoon! xx The awesome wedding vendors...
