You can take the girl out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl! Boy do I love getting back to the countryside whenever I get the chance. When Gemma & Marty decided on doing their engagement session on the Castle Rock farm I couldn't have been happier. Seriously its a perk of the job getting farm tours - happens more often than you'd think!
Marty & Gemma put on their redbands and we headed up the track into the tussocks to take a look at the view of the valley. Fittingly, this pair first met at the Glenorchy Races & have carried on the annual tradition each year since. In December Marty & Gemma will head back to Glenorchy to exchange vows in front of family & friends.
I tell my couples to treat their engagement session like date night. Wear what you feel good in. Bring along the dog, some bubbly or even better some Pride of the South! Go somewhere special or do something fun, just as if you're off on a date. Well Marty picked the top of the hill at sunset with beautiful landscape views, a few cans of beer and a tonne of laughs! Pretty darn romantic right?! Even if it was blowing a gale up on the hill ;)
Now when I turned up I could tell that Marty, like most blokes, could think of at least twenty better things to do than get engagement photos taken, but you see he's the kind of guy that would do anything to make his girl happy. And just look how happy Gemma is! She was laughing and smiling the whole session, I didn't even have to try and come up with any jokes - Marty took care of that.
The light was looking glorious as we arrived back at their house, so we had to take a few more photos.
These photos are about the ONLY three times this dog sat still, but she gets away with it being this cute!
Talking about cute - the last couple of shots for the evening were my absolute favourites!
Marty & Gemma, I hope you love your photos. Thank you so much for the farm tour & thank you for taking the time to let me get to know you both better. Bring on December! xx
