Tim & Becky married at the end of February in Luggate which is just a ten minute drive from Wanaka. Becky booked me as their photographer after seeing a friend of a friend's wedding I photographed last year. She contacted me online and we have been corresponding via email since. It's a very rare thing for me to photograph a wedding without having met the couple already, but up until the day before the wedding I hadn't met either Tim or Becky. In most cases I would find this a disadvantage but the moment I saw Becky & her beautiful smile I felt like we had been friends for ages! These two have been sweethearts for many years and I saw straight away that they both adore each other. You really couldn't find a more happy, easy-going couple! And the love they share is complete with their two beautiful children. Tim & Becky's wedding was a day filled with happiness and had a huge emphasis on the family & friends they were sharing the day of celebration with. My morning began with diamonds, flowers and prettiness! It's such a tough job I tell ya! ;-) I love it when bride's are totally okay with me taking their dress outside to photograph it! Becky had makeup artist Wendy, from Revive Beauty Therapy, and hair stylist; Kylie, from Mountain Air Hair Studio in Wanaka, come to the house where everyone had a chilled out morning being pampered & getting ready. Tim & Becky's son, Jackson, was quite intrigued with my big camera after he woke from his nap. The flowers in the girl's bouquets were picked from the family's garden and were a beautiful mixture of colour, wrapped in burlap and ribbon. Matt headed over to see the guys who were getting ready at Lake Hawea. Tim took a quiet moment to read a handwritten letter from Becky, before sharing a beer with the boys. How cool are these cufflinks?! With matching boutonnieres! I think it's awesome how the guys put their own spin on their details for the day! The guys headed over to Luggate & started greeting guests as they arrived, while it was time for Becky to get in to her dress. Cutie-pie Grace thought her Mum looked so pretty! I know this because she told everyone in the room quite a few times. And of course she was right - Becky you made a stunning bride! Tim & Becky had their ceremony in their backyard! Complete with a handmade arch and straw bales as seats for the guests. It really doesn't get more special or personalised than that! What a glorious Central Otago day for a wedding! Ralph Fegan officiated the ceremony with a fun, easy-going approach which suited Tim & Becky perfectly. We had a photo-bomber for the first kiss, but Grace is such a cutie I'll let her away with it ;-) Presenting you with the newlyweds!!! I'm a sucker for romance and love which is probably a huge part of why I love being a wedding photographer. I just love documenting the celebration of love & special moments like these precious candid shots! We left the guests to enjoy the good weather in the backyard while we went with this good looking bridal party for a drive to a couple of photo locations. The girls had packed a picnic hamper, the guys had sorted some ice cold drinks for the journey and we had a cruisy afternoon taking photos! Ladies you are all so beautiful! And the guys were looking sharp too! One last quiet moment in the gardens before it was time to head to the party! I loved the rustic, country-style details at the reception which went perfectly with the Luggate Hotel venue! The speeches were fantastic! Many stories told, a few yarns and countless bursts of laughter in amongst the heartfelt words of celebration and joy. Tim & Becky! Congratulations friends & a huge thank you for having us document your gorgeous wedding. We had a great day with you, and your friends & family. It was a pleasure getting to know you both. You are such down-to-earth, friendly people and you made us feel so welcome.
