On Saturday our good friends Lauren & Daniel, tied the knot at Argyle Cottage Garden in Invercargill and we were privileged to be their photographers. It's easy to see that Daniel has found his soulmate and best friend in Lauren. When he looks at her there's a sparkle in his eyes reserved just for her, and they also have an incredible amount of fun together. Their wedding day was a complete reflection of their love - a laid-back day filled with laughter, many thoughtful details and an enormous quantity of fun! I spent the morning with the ladies in town, while Matt hung out with the guys at Daniel & Lauren's home. I loved that Lauren & Daniel put so many personalised touches to their day; from the custom dress hangers, to the locations we used for portraits (although I've left out the photos from the rugby club, I didn't want to go upsetting Trev 😜). Instead of the traditional ring box, Lauren used elements that were more in keeping with things they love, with her ring inside a book and Daniel's ring tied to a wee rugby ball. Lauren you rocked that dress! You're absolutely stunning my friend! Meanwhile over at the guy's there was a little less hair & makeup action happening 😜. I loved Daniel's white paisley bowtie! Daniel had the Ed Sheeran hat out of course. If you're wondering about the hat; Lauren proposed to Daniel at Ed's Brisbane concert in 2015! Looking pretty sharp guys! Then it was away to get married at the beautiful Argyle Cottage Garden. These wee cuties! Groomsman Tamaki performed an incredible haka for Daniel & Lauren at the end of their ceremony. So special and an awesome surprise! I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone for being such troopers during family photos - the 15 minutes of family photos was seriously the only time it rained all afternoon! But it made no difference, everyone had their smiles on for Mr & Mrs Rolton! While guests made their way into town for the reception at the Working Men's Club, we hung out with the bridal party for photos, which made for a very entertaining afternoon with this fun crew! Our next stop was Daniel's aunty's lifestyle block on the edge of town. Lauren wanted to incorporate something rural into the day being a country girl at heart. Now full health & safety disclaimer: That rusty scythe was definitely not my idea 😜. Haha but how good are Lauren & Daniel's "serious" faces though?! Then it was time to get the party started with all their guests. Everything at the Invercargill Working Men's Club looked awesome! I loved the sea of twinkle lights behind the head table and the beautiful blue up-lighting around the room. Lauren & Daniel, thank you so much for having us as your photographers! We loved sharing your special day with you, celebrating alongside your family & friends. I can't wait to show you all the photos, but for now I hope you enjoy the blog while you're busy honeymooning! Matt and I wish you all the happiness in the world on this new adventure of marriage together! xx
