Korey & Rebecca had run in the same social circles for a while before they properly met, but when they did meet they fell quickly in love and after spending time with these two on their engagement shoot it's easy to see they're madly in love and absolutely a perfect pairing.
By the time we began the engagement session in the late afternoon Waikaia sun I felt like we were old friends chatting about life and wedding plans, but I knew Rebecca & Korey were pretty nervous about getting their photos taken. So I asked them to just try to ignore the camera & gave Korey the task of making sure Rebecca was smiling that beautiful smile of hers.
Most of my couples are somewhat nervous about getting their photos taken so I always work hard to put everyone at ease and give direction, finding ways for my subjects to relax in front of the camera so I can create natural, candid portraits.
Korey & Rebecca brought their dogs along for the shoot. These two furry creatures were so much fun & raced around us at a million miles an hour but they weren't very interested in having their photos taken, much more interested in chasing wild rabbits and interesting scents ;-)
I'm so in love with this series of photos. While I shot these photos I was asking Korey & Rebecca about their engagement story which happened during a trip to Australia. I loved how they finished each other's sentences as they told me their backstory and also how sometimes they had completely different versions of the same story ;-)
Give me a sunset and a fun-loving couple; the perfect recipe to make me one happy photographer!
These last four photographs are definitely my favourites!
Rebecca & Korey thank you so much for spending a beautiful afternoon with me to take these photos. You guys rocked your engagement shoot! I look forward to hearing which ones are your favourites and I'm so excited for your wedding next year - it's going to be the best day ever!
Much love xx.
