It feels like we've known Kayla & John for ages, but in reality it's only since they booked us as their photographers. They are just so friendly and down to earth - we clicked with them straight away from the very first time we met with them. Kayla has an interest in photography herself and so we've spent many hours talking all things photography and weddings every time we catch up. And John loves his tractors - he even shined one up for the wedding which himself & Kayla drove from Waianawa into town to their reception!
Southland definitely turned up the heat for John and Kayla's beautiful wedding day on Saturday! It made for a stunning afternoon at Argyle Cottage where guests celebrated in style with the newlyweds. Now what you may not realise when you see these photos is that Kayla is nearly 8 months pregnant! Kayla did amazingly all day in the heat and was a picture of beauty, looking like a princess. And when she looked up at John she had this smile on her face that tells me she's married her prince.
Kayla had two wedding dresses! How fancy is that?! She wore the second, more floaty styled number to the reception.
The girls spent the morning at Venom Hair before heading back to the hotel to get dressed.
Kayla you are so beautiful my friend!
Rather than saying their wedding vows during the ceremony, Kayla & John wrote their vows in letters to each other and read these in the morning before seeing each other. A special & intimate twist on the traditional.
John is from Ireland and I know it was very special for him to have his family with him in the morning as he got ready on his wedding day.
With the boys looking striking, it was off to Argyle Cottage Garden to get married! Kayla & John chose the historic church on the grounds to have their ceremony and Megan Mckenzie officiated the beautiful ceremony.
Officially Mr & Mrs Brady! And it was into the shade to cool down & begin the celebrations with friends and family. Kayla & John maximised their time with guests at Argyle Cottage, especially with so many having travelled from Ireland to be there, it was nice for them to be able to enjoy the afternoon together.
The sign on the tractor was a hit with everyone. I don't think I've ever seen such a clean tractor either!
As guests began heading into town we took the bridal party for photos around the gardens.
These two photos below were taken in at the exact same time. Literally not even a second apart! I'll let you guess which photo is mine & which is Matt's. I just love this moment...newlywed bliss.
Argyle Cottage Garden was looking spectacular as ever! There's so many gorgeous spots around the grounds and plenty of shade which was ideal for this hot day. Greg and Annie do an amazing job going the extra mile for each of their couples, and it was lovely to catch up with them again too.
And then it was off to the Kelvin Hotel in wedding tractor style!
The Kelvin Hotel function room looked amazing! I loved all the special touches and details Kayla had thought of.
Many funny, heart-warming stories were told during the speeches, even a little friendly banter about the Ireland vs New Zealand rugby score last year.
Kayla & John thank you so much for including us in your special day! We had a lot of fun celebrating with you both. Matt & I wish you both a lifetime of happiness together and your next adventure is only just around the corner!!! I can't wait to hear the news! ❤️️
Congratulations team Brady! x
