I recently made the hard decision to stop doing in-studio newborn portraits going forwards. I really love capturing more natural, real moments & this part of my portfolio was so out of context to all my other portraiture. So I have decided to start doing lifestyle newborn sessions instead, in-home portraits that are less posed, more reflective of my style and what I love about being a photographer!
Sure the lighting is tougher in a home you're unfamiliar with, than in a studio set up, but also being a wedding photographer has helped me learn to deal with any lighting situation given to me and I have become more confident in making the most of different kinds of light.
A couple of weeks ago I went out to see the Falconer family and three month old Jesse. He's a cutie! We did a very relaxed session just documenting the love for this wee boy, his personality, tender moments and his gorgeous wee smile. I had such fun doing this shoot!
We call this one the "superman" pose.
Falconer family, thank you so much for the privilege of documenting your family. I had a lovely afternoon getting to know you all and I really loved being able to photograph these tender moments for you.x
