When I first met Karl & Lisa I knew their wedding was going to be an awesome day filled with love, family and laughter.
These two met while on family holidays. Both families had been going to this same holiday spot for years but this one year Karl and Lisa ran into each other and decided they liked what they saw.
And it's not surprising that it all fell in to place from there. Karl and Lisa have so much in common, both have a huge love of family, the outdoors, and fishing & hunting. In fact just days out from their wedding I gave Lisa a call to make sure she wasn't stressed about the upcoming day and she informed me they were both out at the white-baiting stand -
having a blast, totally relaxed.
And that was how their wedding day went too - relaxed and laid-back. Just the way it should be.
The pair surrounded by their family and friends celebrated their day in the best way!
I felt truly privileged to be a part of such an awesome day ~ congratulations on your beautiful wedding Karl and Lisa.
I spent the morning with the girls, who got ready at the Ascot.
All the details were stunning & the dress was amazing!
The girls took a ride around the block with Lisa's Mum & Dad to calm the nerves & keep the boys waiting just a little ;)
The ceremony was sweet and filled with laughter, tears and sealed with a kiss.
I loved the boy's suits & top hats, but the best part was the matching canes for father & son.
I have an assistant for weddings & that now happens to be my amazing husband, Matt.
I think it's important to have a support person, to help during the day, organise the small things to make it all happen, oh and to carry my bags! ;) But in all seriousness, I would not be able to do my photography if not for Matt. He makes me believe in my dreams, supports me to the ends of the earth & has obviously picked up a thing or two from all the photography things I talk about endlessly, because he rocked as my second-shooter for the first time!!
I asked him to 'find a different angle of the same story' if he wanted to shoot, gave him a crash course in focusing and exposure and chucked him in the deep end. And as usual he absolutely amazed me.
This is my photo:
And this is Matt's:
A little later on the girls decided they'd quite like those top hats for themselves!
Which meant I made the boys hold the flowers. They don't look bothered at all ;)
We then took a drive to Lisa's parents home & on to Anderson Park with just the bride & groom.
Karl & Lisa wanted photos that reflected their common interests & what was important to them and I loved that!
The family dog was very obliging and even the wedding car matched the house!
As we drove towards Anderson Park I got a little excited as the light turned magical for the last few shots before heading to the party. Amazing light makes me break out a big smile :D And these guys just sealed the deal by being super cute.
The night began with a grand entrance, much applauding, a lot of tear-inducing and side-splitting speeches & of course cake!
Karl & Lisa, when I first met you I instantly knew you were fabulous people with a fabulous love story.
I admit I'm a softie and enjoy most love stories, but yours is beautiful, your wedding day was beautiful & I just want to thank you again for letting me be a part of it..xox
