Cory & Koreena said their "I do's" in the little chapel at Hawthorn Den on the 10th of October. I had been very excited for this special day not only because Cory & Koreena are two of the most lovely people we have ever met but because it was the first time shooting a wedding at the venue where Matt & I had got married almost five years ago! On top of that, back in February I photographed Cory's brother's wedding and since then we have got to know both Cory & Koreena, so these two are more friends than clients! Koreena described her vision for the wedding as shabby chic and a little mis-matched. I knew it was going to be a beautiful day but I was totally blown away by all the attention to detail and care that Cory & Koreena put into their day, helped by an awesome team of vendors and their families. The high tea party in the intimate gardens of Hawthorn Den couldn't have been more stunning! Koreena's dress from Sarah at 4Ever After Bridal was all kinds of perfect and the blue suits for the guys were dashing! You all know I'm a fan of the capturing all the details that form part of the story of a wedding day - well you have no idea how hard it was to choose my favourite photos for this blog! Cory & Koreena thought of everything! And of course there was some amazing jewellery from Cory's work, Van De Water Jewellers. How beautiful are these flowers from the very talented Joyce at Lily Jackson's?! The colours were incredible and the succulents added an awesome texture. And Cory surprised Koreena in the morning with a special bouquet of flowers and a heart-warming note. There wasn't a dry eye in the house as this wee moment unfolded! Koreena's dress was like something out of an old english romance novel. Elegant detailing and delicate chiffon. Perfectly timeless. As Koreena described it - the dress of her dreams! While Koreena was busy looking beautiful enjoying the morning with her Mum, bridesmaid Erin and flowergirl Madison, on the other side of town Cory and Regan were spending a laid-back morning at their Mum's. I am potentially a little biased, but this has got to be one of the cutest chapels around! Their vows were said from the heart and celebrant Barbara Frew told a wonderful story of how these two met and what they each mean to one another. There were laughs and tears of joy, a beautiful reading from Cory's sister, Gena and I thought it was such a nice touch having their mother's each witness their marriage certificate. The sun was shining as Mr & Mrs Hughes began the celebrations with their guests! While guests enjoyed refreshments and live music the bridal party took a walk around the gardens at Hawthorn Den for photos. It was pretty cool being able to do everything in one place and for Cory & Koreena to get back to their guests quickly to join in the celebrations. What a good looking couple!!! Koreena mentioned to me that she had a vision of using the vintage settee in the sun room at Hawthorn Den. This is the final result - oh you are so beautiful Koreena! And then it was back to the guests to enjoy a stunning high tea put together by Jan of Hawthorn Den, with the help of Jude Taylor. I absolutely loved the high tea garden party that Cory & Koreena opted for instead of a formal reception, and they couldn't have picked a better day! The sun was out and the garden was full of the sounds of happiness! Oh and nothing beats a candy bar! Jan your china collection is just astonishing!!! The three-tier wedding cake was made by Koreena's Mum, Robyn and it was simply perfect! Cory & Koreena, I don't even know where to start. Thank you for letting us document your beautiful wedding day. We had so much fun being a part of your day. I hope these photos do justice to just how awesome your day was & there are so many more beautiful photos coming your way! Koreena you were such a beautiful bride and Cory just as handsome - friends we wish you so much happiness in your marriage! xxx
