Gratitude | July

Sometimes I think it's super important to reflect on all the goodness in life. It's so easy to be hard on yourself, to blow negative aspects out of proportion and to forget about what matters.

If you are self-employed I'm sure you will easily understand how hard it can be to run your own business. It can be lonely. It can be stressful. Some days it feels like you haven't achieved anything. You take everything to heart because you put so much of yourself into your work. Work-life balance is a term that doesn't seem to exist. But on the flip side even the worst day in your own business is better than working for someone else. Entrepreneurialship (yip I think that is a legit word...) is rewarding, challenging, it means combining a passion with a job and you meet awesome people that you might not ever have if you weren't doing what you do.
Here's five things I'm grateful for today:
  • That working from home means more fluffy snuggles and walks in the fresh air with Henry dog.
  • For my new branded packaging for the 2015/2016 season. I want to deliver quality products and services to all my awesome clients, so it's important to me that my presentation reflects my brand.

  • For all the emails that land in my inbox each day because it means my business is busy.
  • For an extra day a week for photography. From the 1st of September I will be in my studio on Thursdays as well, meaning a little more balance, more days for shooting, editing and more photography in general. I cannot wait!
  • And I am grateful for my ridiculously awesome wedding clients. And for Koko Black in Queenstown for providing me with the perfect little treats for my wedding clients as a way to express my gratitude. Finding a way to say thank you to my clients is so important to me. Without my awesome clients I have no business after all. Whether it's my handwritten notes (because why should everything be electronic these days??) or a small gift to my bride & grooms - it's just the gesture, to say thank you & truly mean it. A simple but thoughtful gift speaks louder than any words I can say out loud. Plus I just love giving presents so I'm excited to soon send these out with all the wedding albums I am designing! x
