7 days of bloggingCall me crazy but I've decided to take up Alex Beadon's FeelGoodBlogging Challenge which involves blogging every single day for 7 days. I've been following Alex Beadon's blog for the last 4 years, first inspired by her photography & photoshop prowess, then I watched her blossom into a business mentor for creatives and one of the most successful entrepreneurs I know of. So here I am - blog # 1. Will anyone read my blogging series? Does it matter? I'm doing this one for me ;) And I'll start off by telling you who I am. You can easily read about me here, but I'd like to describe myself in a few different words today. I'm fun-loving & love to laugh often. I'm awkward but out-going. My so-called confidence is very superficial. My husband makes me a better person. My dog puts up with my cuddles. And I love the life I live, even though its far from perfect. So why blog? I first started this blog when I began doing portrait photography. I blogged my sessions and planned to blog about personal interests too, ideas, tips and life in general. With time & the way life goes I haven't given my blog the love it deserves. Today my blog consists mainly of my client sessions & although I do love that each blog is something my clients can share and enjoy with their friends and family, I wish I did blog more consistently and that I did blog about more than just my sessions. Half of that hurdle is "finding the time" and the other half is not knowing what my followers want to see on here. Who is my blog for? I want people to see my blog, feel connected & know I'm the photographer for them. I truly believe that its not all about my portfolio. I've been blown away by the friends I've made thanks to my camera so far - and I want to keep making friends. Yes photography has become my business, but I don't want to disappear as a person behind my business. I'm unique, I'm me and no-one else can bring that to their business or their blog. So I want my clients to know me, like me and choose me because they know I'm the photographer for them. And not everyone has to like me but those that do, will like me for me. So I'm doing this 7 day blogging challenge to blog more for myself, to blog about more and to let my followers know me better and feel connected. Now that's enough about what I want to achieve, let me take a moment to brag about what I have achieved just recently! Chasing my dream. As some of you will know my main job is in accounting and with becoming increasingly busy in photography I was struggling with having no balance, let alone having a life! I recently had some professional coaching and from there made the decision to reduce my work hours - my awesome boss obliged and from December I'll be getting an extra day a week for my photography. I'm looking forward to chasing this dream & doing more of what I love. So if you are out there, reading this blog here's what I'd love from you: What would you like me to blog about? Do you have questions about my photography or just in general? Or just call by and say hi :) I'd love to hear from you! PS: I don't believe a blog post is complete without a photo so here's one I'm loving at the moment!
