Ethan & Jess | Oreti Beach Engagement Session

Despite the less than ideal weather we had a great time catching up with Ethan & Jess on Sunday. I don't think either of us were sure how the engagement session was going to go ahead with the forecast of rain all day on Sunday, but when we turned up at Oreti Beach the rain clouds relented for just long enough for us to get some beautiful portraits! 

​The first time Jess emailed me about their wedding, I remember her telling me the thing she was most excited about was getting to marry her best friend. A lot has happened since we had that first conversation. Jess & Ethan have moved to Perth, and they now have twin girls (who I can't wait to meet)! But they're home for the wedding & they're getting married tomorrow!!!

We definitely spent more time yarning and catching up than taking photos! Sometimes I think perhaps that's not a good thing, but engagement sessions are such an important part of the journey with our wedding couples and I do think it's more about being comfortable and at ease in front of the camera, getting to know each other better and to chat about how our couples want their wedding day to be than just a photoshoot.
