Edwards family portraits {Gore, Southland}

I recently spent a beautiful autumn morning at the local park with this gorgeous family, creating some fun portraits. Mikaela happens to be my insanely talented hairdresser - my latest hair style has had so many comments and it's always a pleasure to tell people about this awesome lady and her skills!

Last year Mikaela travelled to Berlin to win gold at the Wella International Awards. After she arrived home I asked her all about her overseas adventures and I found out she’d been mugged at knife point while travelling around London by herself. I felt traumatised for her! But it wasn’t the money or material things that Mikaela talked about, she was just heartbroken at the photos of her kids that she’d lost on her phone - iPhone snaps from the last 3 years of their life. 

I knew I couldn't bring back those photos but I could create new memories & photos. So that's what we did!

Liko and Florence were so much fun to photograph! From leaf fights to finding hidden gardens, they definitely gave me a workout!
