When Eryn & Dave started discussing family portraits with me, they really wanted to do the photos in a way that wasn't staged, just them as a family, doing fun family stuff. As you all know capturing genuine, fun portraits is what lights me up so this was right up my alley!!!
We threw around ideas of maybe waiting for a frosty morning and doing photos as the sun rose or sunset portraits out in the backyard with the fire pit going - a family favourite.
Then it snowed in the school holidays and we spontaneously decided to jump at the opportunity for some fun in the snow. There's just something so magical about photographs in the snow!
Naturally we finished off the snow session with a snow fight!
The fun didn't stop there though. We decided to continue on with plans for the family night around the outdoor fire-pit toasting marshmallows, listening to a few tunes and enjoying the setting sun. And as much fun as it was getting out in the snow, these photos below are definitely some of my favourite family portraits ever taken - I just loved shooting these genuine moments and 'storytelling' the Duffy's enjoying family time. Plus I'm wishing I had an epic corner of the garden like this for Friday evenings to chill out, listen to music, get the BBQ going and enjoy!
Eryn & Dave thank you so much for getting me to create these family portraits for you. It has been awesome getting to know you both and your beautiful family, plus a true pleasure capturing these moments! x
