Chris and Kady's happily ever after wedding day has been a while in the making. Chris made Kady wait more than a few years for a proposal but good things do take time haha! Chris and Kady had planned to wed in April earlier this year until blimin' Covid ruined those autumn wedding plans. But we got there and last Saturday they said their I Do's in front of their loved ones. And it was a day of absolute perfection. The weather was brilliant, Kady had thought of every single detail (a photographer's dream!!!) and the whole day was relaxed and cruisey. Matt and I have known Chris and Kady for what feels like many years now, but in reality it's probably only been a couple. We met them through a past wedding couple and we were so excited when Chris and Kady got engaged themselves. I know I probably say it too much but I'll say it again - we love the connections we make as wedding photographers, in fact I reckon it's the very reason that 8 wedding seasons into our career we still love what we do so much, if not even more so. (I may also be becoming more and more sentimental every year I get older haha!). Can we just take a minute to appreciate the gorgeous colour palette of Chris and Kady's day?! I seriously had the best day, not only because we were celebrating Chris and Kady but also because everything was just SO amazing to photograph. Kady told me she's a bit of a Disney fan, and I think you'll agree with me that Kady looked like a princess in that gorgeous wedding dress of hers! Chris got ready with his groomsmen at their house on the farm. Matt tells me that apart from Thomas not being able to find his suit pants for a while - it was a very laidback and relaxed morning. Kady had organised personalised Coke bottle for the guys and had also given Chris a very cool looking watch. Chris and Kady had their wedding ceremony in Chris' parent's garden on the farm. Guests sat on haybales witnessing Chris and Kady exchange their vows, family stuck overseas watched via live video and past loved ones were most definitely present in spirit. It was a ceremony charged with love and joy. It was such a cracker day to enjoy a cold beverage in the sunshine with guests. And I loved how Chris and Kady kept it simple by doing their portraits on the farm - we all hopped in utes and headed up to the top paddocks, Chris even had time to check on a few sheep! We had a fantastic afternoon with these two and their bridal party. It was a pretty bright day which isn't the easiest for photographers - but Chris and Kady trusted us and I'm super proud of the portraits we created. That groomsman on the right is Hamish. We love Hamish! He's one of our past grooms, married to the beautiful Brittany and he's been in at least a couple of bridal parties we've photographed now. I like to give Hamish plenty of stick - don't worry he's fine with it. He's pretty good at giving it right back. Hamish keeps telling me that he needs some commission for all these weddings since his own - I probably do owe the guy a beer to be fair! You two! You both looked amazing! And your happiness just spills out of these photos. From the farm we cruised on into town where the Invercargill Working Men's Club had been transformed into a wedding wonderland! Speeches were a lovely balance of hilarious & sincere, the drinks flowed and just wait until you see the cake! Congratulations Chris and Kady! Cheers to a beautiful first day married, we were stoked to be there to celebrate with you both and to document all the fun, love and perfection. We hope you love your blog - there is so much more wedding gorgeousness coming your way soon. I cannot wait to do your wedding album - it's going to be BEAUTIFUL!
