Stephen and Mackenzi's wedding day was filled with sunshine, love and a lot of laughs! The ideal recipe for the perfect first day of marriage. There were tears of joy, very proud parents, fist pumps & burnouts, awesome dance moves and just so many beautiful moments. Mackenzi had brought together the most beautiful style for their wedding, from the dried flowers created by Daisy to the personalised cookies for all the guests. The neon photobooth backdrop at the reception and of course those oh so cute flower girl dresses! It was all a photographer's dream. Stephen and Mackenzi's girls were naturally a HUGE part of their wedding day and while wee Kaydence was not interested in photos, you'll see plenty of candids dotted amongst this blog. Elle dog even makes an appearance! You all know I'm a sucker for great wedding styling & beautiful portraits, but the older I get the more sentimental I am becoming and it's those heartfelt moments, the fleeting looks, the cherished hugs, the tears, those in between shots that really strike a cord with me these days. This beautiful wedding day of Steve & Mac's has it all! Mac's bridesmaids surprised her with a teepee slumber party the night before the wedding (such a cool idea!) and this made the cutest backdrop as the wee flowergirls played in the morning while the grown ups got pampered with hair and makeup! Kerry was just so proud of her daughter! Such special moments - both a little nervous as the day started to get very real. Stephen got ready at his brother's house near the farm in Otama. From the look of Matt's photos it was a chilled out morning with his groomsmen as they prepared for the day ahead. How's this for a farm wedding?! Not just a cool setup & stunning weather, but a view with special meaning. The Mackay farm has been in the family for generations, it's where Steve grew up and the view from their ceremony spot overlooked Mandeville which is where Mac grew up. I know Mac was very nervous before the ceremony, but all those nerves were gone as soon as she was standing up there beside her man. Megan McKenzie delivered a stellar ceremony for Mac & Steve! I love getting to hear another perspective of how a couple first met and how their love story began. There's always room for a bit of laughter in a ceremony too of course! These post-ceremony feels are just so good! While guests enjoyed the bar at the ceremony we hit the road with the bridal party - off to find some shade and cool down a little! Check out this good looking crew! Stephen and Mackenzi were so chilled out & easy-going about photos, they only had one request and that was car photos. Specifically a burnout with their red wagon! One last stop on the way back to Gore at this iconic shed, set just off the road on a family member's property! Mackenzi you absolute babe! And Stephen you scrubbed up well mate! It was about this point that I decided we should probably get the bridal party to dinner! 😂 The T&C was transformed filled with dried florals and twinkle lights. Steve & Mac's guests were ready to get the party started with the newlyweds. Speeches provided plenty of laughs, along with some beautiful stories and sentiments. The evening flowed beautifully with plenty of time for Steve & Mac to mingle and relax with their guests. Their photobooth backdrop was well used, we even got in on the action! And once the band started the dancefloor was packed. Stephen and Mackenzi congratulations again on such a wonderful first day of marriage. It is the memories made on this day that you'll cherish forever. The laughter, the celebrations with your loved ones and of course this is the day the four of you became the Mackays!
