I believe we all deserve to exist in photographs. Not one day when we finally get around to it - but now. I know this because of the way it makes me feel when I look at photographs of the people precious to me. One day your loved ones will look for photographs of you, what will they find? Photographs are a celebration of our lives. Every shoot I do, I know I am creating something tangible for a family to look back on in years to come.
Last month I drove out to Morton Mains to see the Pirie family and we created some beautiful, fun portraits capturing their family as they are today. Corrine told me they hadn't had family portraits done before so it was very special to be asked to create these portraits for them!
Corrine thank you for asking me to create these family photographs for you - I had a wonderful morning with you all and I hope you enjoy these portraits for years to come. x
I'm so excited to blog this beautiful family's portrait session. Lisa organised these family photos with me in spring - the grandparents were included, the kids were pretty excited about photos and we had a relaxed evening of photography fun. Lisa's garden was a treasure trove of beautiful backdrops for their family portraits. From mossy woodlands to spring blossom & lambs!
I'm busy printing these photos today and as I look at them coming off the printer I think how cool these will be for the kids to look back on as they get older - the memories of childhood antics, of springtime on the farm, of the special hugs only grandparents can give.
Here's just a selection of my favourites from the Roulston's portrait session...
Meet Archie, the Roulston's free-range bunny. Archie has full run of Lisa's incredible gardens and he enjoys hopping through into the paddock next door to hang out with the sheep sometimes too. Archie made an appearance for the photos of course!
Lisa, thank you so so much for asking me to create these photographs for you. I had such a fun time meeting you all and I can't wait for you to see the finished product! x
I first met Paul and Helena back in 2015 for maternity portraits. At the start of this month I drove out to their Seaward Downs property again to update their family portraits. Baz has grown so much since their last family portraits two years ago & I loved meeting wee Riley who is almost one!
I don't really feel like I've been doing photography for all that long, but I guess my first wedding was almost 6 years ago now and that means I've been doing portraits for even longer! In that time I've met so many awesome people. And being asked back to photograph new memories and milestones for past clients is ALWAYS so special.
Helena and Paul - thank you so much for asking me back to update your family portraits. It was a pleasure to catch up with you & to meet Riley. I adore these precious moments we captured and know they'll be treasured as the kids continue to grow. Can't wait to get your canvas to you! x
