On Saturday we met Dean, Danielle and their miniature schnauzer Ted at Northburn, just up the road from Cromwell, for their engagement session. Most couples mention to me that they don't really enjoy having their photo taken and we love being able to show them at the engagement session that it can be (and should be) fun, conversational and enjoyable. After Dean and Danielle's engagement session I got a message from Danielle to say how excited they were for the wedding photos now - which just makes me super happy!
We had a blast getting to know Dean and Danielle during their sunset session. The autumn colours and light were incredible. Ted loved exploring in between posing for photos. And the location for these portraits was not only gorgeous but also special to Dean - who remembers family holidays along the shores of Lake Dunstan. In fact the stone ruins you see in the photos is the remains of the family's crib!
Dean and Danielle - thank you for hanging out with us on Saturday! We are so excited for January to roll around!!!
I'll be in touch soon with all your engagement portraits. Until then, enjoy the school holidays and I hope Ted has got all those weeds & twigs out of his coat by now! :-) x
Last Tuesday night Matt and I headed up the road to Mavora to meet with Aaron & Katelin for their engagement session. Mavora is special to Aaron as he spent many family camping trips there as a kid and Katelin thought it would be a great spot to create some new memories during their engagement session - I couldn't agree more! I love going new places with my camera and I hadn't been to Mavora for years - it is an absolute treasure trove for photos!!!
We so enjoyed our time hanging out with these lovebirds. Photographing Aaron & Katelin was a dream - they were totally laidback & laughed their way through the whole shoot. I remembered from my first meeting with Aaron and Katelin that they seemed so fun-loving & playful. And to me these portraits really show how beautifully these two humans fit together as a couple.
Aaron and Katelin were trusting of my every suggestion - from choosing locations right through to even dipping their feet in the chilly lake for a few photos!
Aaron and Katelin, we are so excited for your wedding day to arrive! We can already tell it's going to be a day filled with fun, laughter and love. We enjoyed getting to know you both better at your engagement session last week and you were an absolute pleasure to photograph. x
I distinctly remember when Brent and Nicole first came to see me when they began their wedding plans. We spent most of the meeting chatting about our respective fur-babies and that evening when Matt asked me how the day had gone I said to him; 'I think we've found our dog parent twins!' 😍 So needless to say it was cool to meet Toby and the new addition Oscar at Brent and Nicole's Piano Flat engagement session.
Due to weather we'd previously had to reschedule with Nicole & Brent but it feels like doing their engagement session on Sunday was actually meant to be because it was their one year engagement anniversary & we somehow managed to dodge all the rain clouds that were floating about too!
We had a fun afternoon together celebrating their anniversary with engagement portraits amongst the native bush and scenery. Nicole and Brent get married in March next year and it's thanks to many mutual friends that our name was recommended to them as photographers. We're excited to be a part of their big day which I know will be beautiful and filled with the love they share.
Check out that gorgeous engagement ring!
Brent and Nicole - thank you so much for entrusting us as your wedding photographers! We loved getting to know you both better at your engagement session and really appreciated your dedication to travelling out to Piano Flat for it.
Bring on 2019! xxx
