A few weeks ago Julie rang me about photographing her children's baptism and doing family portraits beforehand to mark the special occasion. I came out to their Kaiwera farm in the morning and I thoroughly enjoying creating portraits for this beautiful family, along with documenting the baptism ceremony. Here are just a handful of my favourites from their family session. ❤️
We started the session in the lovely big gardens Julie has around the house and it didn't take long for the kids to become at ease in front of my camera - we went from total shyness to giggles within minutes!
How cute are these three?! 😍
Okay I have to stop a minute to appreciate my super amazing clients! I'm very lucky to have clients that are invested in creating beautiful portraits. And I don't just mean that they're paying me - I mean the likes of this gorgeous colour palette of clothing didn't happen by accident! Clearly some thought went into it and just look at the magical results!
What you wear for your portraits can make a big difference to the look and feel of your portraits. I talk to my clients about these sorts of things while we're planning their portraits - the best time of day for light, considering what to wear, how to achieve natural expressions from children and so much more. I believe that preparation plays a big part in the final results that end up on your wall.
I'm a country kid at heart so I love when I get to shoot on farms. The farm lane was a great spot for photos including some shots with the pet pony.
Julie and Hayden, thank you so much for asking me to create these family photos for you. I have loved getting to know you both and your gorgeous children. And it was a privilege to be a part of a very special day! 😊
PS: I'm so excited to print these images for you! The colours are just delicious. x
