Breidi is one of those people that has everything organised to a tee and when she knows what she wants she goes after it! I know this because Breidi booked me as their wedding photographer early last year, when November 2016 seemed so far away in the future. It is always an honour when couples put their trust in us to capture one of the most important days of their lives for them! And when brides like Breidi find us - brides know what they want & can't wait to book us in - we know it's going to be a fabulous journey getting to know them, gaining new friends in the process! Scott and Breidi chose Beersheba Estate - an incredible garden venue in Invercargill - to have their wedding ceremony. With immaculate gardens and a fantastic outdoor entertaining area for guests Beersheba is a stunning wedding venue! And to make a truly beautiful day even more special Scott and Breidi's wedding goes down in history as the first EVER wedding reception to be held at the Bill Richardson Transport World! Their function room upstairs was a stunning space for the reception and guests could look out over the museum below as they came in. Scott and Breidi had an epic bridal party at their side for the day and it was easy to see how much their family and friends mean to them. All the little details of the day came together perfectly. The whole day was relaxed and fun. But my very favourite part of Breidi & Scott's wedding was the smile on Scott's face everytime he looked at his girl! Breidi's gorgeous engagement ring is actually Scott's great grandmother's ring with a diamond set in it from Breidi's mum's engagement ring. How special is that?! I knew when I photographed it that it was a one-of-a-kind. The girls spent the morning getting ready in style at the Kelvin Hotel. They gave themselves plenty of time to relax and even enjoy some bubbles! Meanwhile the guys got ready for the day at Scott and Breidi's home. Looking fabulous in grey, and completing the look with themed cufflinks. They even had time to crack open the Southern Comfort! As the guys headed out to greet guests at Beersheba, it was time to get Breidi in her beautiful dress! When I photographed this dress in the morning I knew it was going to look stunning on Breidi - classic, timeless and with beautiful lace detailing. As soon as Scott saw Breidi walking towards him down the aisle, that smile never left his face! Breidi and Scott had Megan McKenzie as their celebrant and it was a pleasure to work alongside this lovely lady again! With a kiss, they became Mr & Mrs McStay! These two shots are definitely in my top favourites! My heart just bursts looking at all the happiness in these photos! While guests relaxed in Beersheba's beautiful outdoor area, we took Scott, Breidi and their awesome bridal party around the gardens for portraits. A huge shout out to the fabulous bridal party - thanks for making our job so much fun! And you all looked incredible! Last stop...Transport World! With a few photos inside the museum before heading upstairs to get the party started. And I can't share these photos without thanking my amazing second shooter, Matt. He had to carry two bags of camera equipment and lighting gear around the mueseum with us, plus hold my lights whereever I needed them for these shots and then at times he also had to lift me up so I could get the angle I wanted! He is actually my secret weapon, the secret to my success and a makeshift ladder 😜. If you're wondering what Brad's up to in that shot... he was just a little excited about sitting in the driver's seat of an old school bus 😂. The wedding reception was picture perfect. All the speakers were fantastic. There were tears of joy, crys of laughter and some beautiful words spoken. But I think Breidi's mum, Rhonda takes the cake with her own rendition of an Amy Winehouse song incorporated into her speech! The wedding cake was a beautiful naked-iced creation by Jude Taylor! Local band, Jar Run, started the night of music and dancing off with Scott & Breidi's first dance. Congratulations Mr & Mrs McStay and thank you again for asking us to capture your perfect wedding day! We had a brilliant day with you, your families and friends!
