Even in the depths of winter there is magic to be found with the camera. Andrew and Nicole get married later this year and this past Sunday we went for an adventure to Queenstown to find the snow, get amongst the mountains and celebrate their engagement with some epic portraits.
From the moment we met up with Andrew and Nicole we were chatting about life, wedding plans, dogs, biking - we had a fabulous afternoon getting to know this duo better and I loved every minute of taking these portraits for them! I have SO many favourite photos from this engagement session that I couldn't fit them all into their blog so here's just a wee taster of the magic we created...
We met in sleepy Arrowtown for our first location. The iconic Dudley's Hut and the surrounding winter trees gave the most incredible textured backdrop.
Little Frankie just about stole the show!
Also Nicole showed me their wedding invites which they'd been working on in the weekend - they're so gorgeous and it was cool to incorporate them into the photos.
Andrew and Nicole are outdoor, adventure loving people and I had the perfect location in mind to fit the brief and get them to the snow! We couldn't have had better conditions either, the late afternoon colours were amazing! It felt like we were on top of the world inside a real life painting.
How lucky are we to live in such an epic, picturesque part of the world?!
And because Andrew & Nicole were such troopers we decided to finish off the afternoon with a quick play in the snow!
Andrew and Nicole, we had a wonderful afternoon getting to know you both! Thank you for being so much fun to photograph and for being up for the adventure including that rather sketchy bit of road at Skippers!!!
Bring on December! x
