There were so many times on Adele and Andrew's beautiful Te Anau wedding day where I found myself thinking; "I have the most incredible job in the world, I get to work surrounded by love & we get to capture the most precious moments for our couples!" Adele and Andrew, along with many of their family & friends, travelled from Melbourne to tie the knot in Te Anau. A place that holds many special memories for Adele, her family and also Andrew. Te Anau might not have turned the temperature up for the big day but the autumn colours looked spectacular and the light was just perfect for photos. Not to mention that every aspect of Adele and Andrew's wedding was relaxed & fun, a reflection of these two & their personalities! I loved that their day had a focus on what was most important to them both; celebrating with family & friends. Even down to having the ceremony live-streamed to family back in Australia, so that in a way those that couldn't make it could still be a part of the day too. Here's some of my favourite images on the blog for you, to tell Adele & Andrew's wedding story... Wondering why I used Star Wars lego for the ring shot?? Well Andrew is a HUGE Star Wars fan & you'll see a bit of a Star Wars theme going on throughout the day. How cute are their shoes?! While I spent the morning with Adele and her family, Matt was with Andrew as he got ready with his family around at the hotel. Now check out these Chewbacca cufflinks!!! Adele & Andrew said their I Do's in the beautiful glass chapel on the lakefront of Te Anau. And a hi-5 to seal the deal! I'm in love with this fleeting, tender moment captured by Matt! Just look at that grin! Andrew was one happy man driving away from the chapel in his new father-in-law's red Mustang with his wife sat beside him. At our second location I had a bit of fun with some off-camera flash. I'm definitely no expert in this field of lighting but I enjoy trying to push myself both creatively & technically. Adele and Andrew had a heart-shaped umbrella so we had some fun getting creative with that. The reception at the Distinction Lakefront was looking brilliant in black with a touch of Star Wars. It seemed the speakers for the evening had come up with many ways of bringing a little more Star Wars to the party - from a Darth Vader bottle opener, to a themed doormat for Adele & Andrew's new home! The room was filled with love & joy for the newlyweds! Turns out that Lightsabers aren't the ideal tool for cutting a wedding cake though, so it was back to the traditional cake knife. Congratulations friends! It was an honour to be part of your beautiful wedding day & we are thrilled to have gotten to know you both. We had such an awesome day with you & your families, which was no surprise after how much fun we had on your engagement session!
