A Day Trip {Tunnel Beach, St Clair}

Yesterday I took the day off & we went for an adventure to Dunedin. Can you believe I've never been to St Clair?! 

After a beautiful lunch in town we took a stroll along the beach at St Clair, before heading out to Tunnel Beach.

I'd only just recently heard of Tunnel Beach & I've been wanting to check it out ever since. It's an amazing rugged spot on the otago coast with stunning cliffs, turbulent sea spray and a cute hand carved tunnel down to a secluded wee beach. The tunnel was carved in the 1870's by John Cargill for his family, complete with 72 steps. It's a rather romantic spot, but involves a ridiculously steep walk back up to the carpark afterwards.

At times its easy to get caught up in the craziness of life that you forget to just take a break and breathe. Yesterday was a day for just breathing, soaking up the fresh air and enjoying each other's company. 

Excuse the poor iPhone quality. Most people think I take my big camera everywhere but in reality 80% of my own photos are snapped on my phone. I feel kind of bad saying that, but better documented than not at all right!?!
