Carter & Jack WoolseyI recently had the great pleasure of taking photos for my friend Emily of her two handsome young boys, Carter and Jack. I turned up on a fresh Saturday morning with all my gear to find a very happy household. Jack was all smiles on the floor surrounded by toys, pulling out his party trick for me (clapping his hands)... ...and Carter was getting stuck right into a pottle of yoghurt... Look at those eyes! I really had no idea just how much energy two young boys could have! Jack was quite content just relaxing and smiling for the camera, but Carter was ALL go! Once he was finished morning smoko, I then followed Carter around the house, from toy to toy, room to room, chasing him with the camera at 'Carter height'. In fact Carter may just end up becoming a photographer, he was just about more interested in being on my side of the lens, seeing what was happening & what buttons could be pressed, than letting me take his photo :-) There was no relaxed, time-taken posing with this one ;) Two hours of running around, kneeling, squatting and lying on every possible angle, then that evening I realized this kind of photography is more of a workout than going to the gym (I actually had to get out the deep heat for my poor muscles!!!) Thanks to the help of their SUPERWOMAN Mum (who also by the way is the best baker I know) we did manage to get some very cute brotherly photos. Hehe, love those 'bear' suits! Jack makes a very cuddly wee teddy bear :-) Now you may remember this setting from a shoot I did a couple of months ago with Fleur & baby Sam. Emily's spare bedroom has awesome natural light, is decorated perfectly for photos AND has the best bed for jumping on according to Carter! Check out these attempts at getting a perfect photo with Mum...! We may not have achieved perfection, but I still think these photos are so much fun, they're real & they tell a million stories with each image. I had a lot of fun editing these photos, trying out some new techniques and styles. I think these images really just capture the spirit of these two young boys and their Mum who looks stunning while doing it, don't you think! Meet Monkey! This would have to be the best loved Monkey I've ever seen, especially for a toy that came from one of those vending machines, (it took $10 to get that Monkey out I'm told!) I think just about every child I know has a toy like "Monkey" - well loved and worn out, but adorably precious. I could load up SOO many images onto this blog but I must control myself :) I'll leave you with another couple of Jack and his professional modeling skills! Thanks Emily, Carter & Jack for letting me capture such awesomeness with my camera!
This shoot was a bit of a "hobby swap" for some of Emily's delicious baking for my work-shout, you really should check out Emily's amazing talent at: https://www.facebook.com/millyskitchen xx |
